Cash, bank and dying
Cash is what you carry: spendable and robbable. The bank is safe savings that can't be pickpocketed. Death costs you a 3% tax on your cash and bank combined (max $500,000), unless you carry Life Insurance, which blocks it once.
Retail, wholesale and player shops
- Retail: the General Store and Hospital NPCs sell the everyday essentials. The server's own weapon and drug stores are pricier fall-backs, and they add 1★ to the buyer.
- Wholesale: dealers restock at the Wholesale NPC, each for their own class only.
- Player shops: dealers set their own prices and sell to whoever walks up (
/weapons,/potions,/weed,/itemsnear a dealer). Dealers advertise with the/woffer,/poffer,/dofferand/ioffercommands.
Digital items
Some items live in a digital pouch instead of your inventory. Check them with /myitems. Only what you carry protects you: items stashed in a house (/houseinv, 20 of each) do nothing until you withdraw them.
| Item | Carry up to | What it does | It's gone when |
|---|---|---|---|
| Life Insurance | 1 | Blocks the death tax once, and lets you keep Efficiency V diamond and netherite pickaxes. | You die |
| Condom | 10 | Blocks an infection attempt, 100%. | An infection is attempted on you |
| Fishing Permit | 1 | Lets you fish without earning a star. | You die or get arrested |
Fishing rods are permanent. Lost one? /myitems rod <name> gets it back.
Fishing
Get a Fishing Permit and a rod and fish for cash. Without a permit you earn 1★. Police can't fish at all.
Taxes
Every couple of in-game days the server taxes the income you earned. Players who become very rich are hit by a heavy wealth tax above a threshold. Check your history with /taxinfo, and claim a refund with /taxrefund after you've been taxed enough times.
The stock market
Not every hustle needs a getaway car. Put your cash in Vice City's stock market with /invest and let it work while you dodge the cops.
