Cash, bank and risk
Cash is what you carry: spendable and robbable. The bank is safe savings that can't be pickpocketed. That one rule drives the whole economy: the richer you are, the more you have to protect.
Death costs a 3% tax on your cash and bank combined (max $500,000), unless you carry Life Insurance. Moving your own money in and out of the bank is never taxed.
Ways to earn
- Your class: arrests and a daily salary for police, shop margins for dealers, bounties for hitmen, ransoms for kidnappers.
- Deliveries: $25,000 to $150,000 per mission.
- A player-run taxi service, fishing with a permit, and the daily lottery.
- The money bag: $150,000 hidden somewhere in the city every day.
- Daily reward: $10,000 after 10 hours played, every 24 hours.
- Crime: pickpocketing, bank jobs, store holdups and house robberies, with the police on your tail.
The stock market
Put cash into 10 companies across real estate, resorts, arms, motors, fishing, yachts, nightlife, steel, cartel, airlines. Prices update once per in-game day and move 1% to 6% up or down, with momentum from winning and losing streaks. A price never falls below 50% or rises above 200% of its starting value. You can sell any time.
It's the slow, safer hustle to run beside the heists. More on the economy.
Where the money goes
- Houses you can build into mansions, and rooms you can rent out.
- Vehicles: 17 models at the dealer plus an Airfield.
- The casino, with a High Roller floor for players with a fortune.
- The Rich Zone, an area open only to players with $10,000,000 or more in the bank.
- Taxes: the server taxes income, and players who become very rich pay a much heavier rate.
