News & updates

New systems, new ways to get in trouble. Newest first.

  1. Housing

    Room renting & lockpicks

Owners can carve rooms out of their house (/house room wand, then /house room create <name> <price>) and list them on the For Rent tab of /hmarket. Rent is charged per real day, the first day is taken at once, and renters who stop paying get evicted.

Renters can open doors, chests, levers and buttons in their room, but never build, and they get a Room Menu (/roominv) with room storage and keys.

The catch: a Lockpick from the General Store NPC lets anyone try a door or chest in someone else's house or rented room. It alerts the owner, the room's renter and every cop online. Renting a whole house no longer exists. It's rooms only.

  2. Crime

    House robbery rework

Walk to the centre of a house someone owns, stand perfectly still, and you might walk out with a cut of its cash vault. Move and the whole thing is cancelled.

The owner has to be online, and both the owner and the police get the alert the moment you start.

  3. Economy

    The stock market opens

Open /invest, pick a company and buy in with the quick-buy buttons. You can sell whenever you like. Prices move once per in-game day, and winning or losing streaks build momentum, so timing is half the game.

It's the safer, slower cousin of a bank job. Put your cash to work while you dodge the cops.

  4. Crime

    Store holdups

Holdup spots around the city let you rob a store with /holdup. Cash trickles in while you stay perfectly still. If you move, the holdup ends, but you keep what you've already grabbed.

Police can't do holdups, and payouts follow the city's faction balance: outnumbered cops means smaller scores.

  5. Jobs

Daily lottery & the money bag

Pick a number with /lotto, and one winner takes the jackpot at the daily draw. No winner? The jackpot rolls over and keeps growing (/jackpot shows it).

Every day a hidden money bag spawns somewhere in the city and a hint with coordinates is broadcast. Search the area and /pickup before it vanishes.

  6. Police

    Drug plant confiscation

Planted drug crops now give off bright green particles that anyone can spot. Police can right-click a plant to confiscate it and collect a reward.

Anyone else who right-clicks a plant steals it: they earn a wanted star and no drugs, and the owner is notified.

  7. Jobs

    Fishing rods

Grab a Fishing Permit and a rod from the General Store NPC and fish for cash. Fish without a permit and you earn a wanted star. Cops can't fish at all.

Rods are permanent. If you ever lose one, /myitems rod <name> gets it back.

  8. World

    Parachute travel

Talk to the Parachute NPC, pick a destination and skydive in. There's no fall damage until you land.

It's blocked once you're at four wanted stars or higher, so you can't parachute out of a chase.

  9. Economy

    Wholesale NPC market

Weapons, potion, items and drug dealers restock at the Wholesale NPC, and each class can only open the shop for its own stock.

Wholesale stock is trade-tagged: you can't use it yourself. You sell it on, at your own prices.
