- Risk
- You earn from
- Passenger fares (you set the price)
- Signature move
- The meter
How you earn
- Sit in the driver's seat of any vehicle and write
/taxi <fare>: the fare for every 30 seconds, from $1 to $5,000 (/taxi 250,/taxi 2k). The meter is on. - Everybody who sits in a passenger seat pays you automatically, the moment they get in (that covers the first 30 seconds) and then every 30 seconds until they get out.
/taxishows your meter and what you've earned,/taxi 400changes the fare (your passengers are told), and/taxi offstops it. - Get your customers. A player who isn't a taxi driver and writes
/taxi(or/calltaxi) is saying "I need a taxi." Every taxi driver online is alerted with the caller's position and how far away they are. Click the message, or type/gpstrack <name>: the same live GPS the police use, with direction, distance and coordinates on your action bar (/gpstrack stopends it)./driversshows every taxi that is running, with its fare and how far away it is. - It adds up fast. A passenger who rides for five minutes at $250 pays you about $2,500. Your price, your route, your customers.
What can go wrong
- Your income is cash, and cash can be robbed with
/rob. Bank it. - A taxi is a normal vehicle. Leave it unlocked (a locked one keeps your passengers out) and anybody can take it the moment you step out (+1★ for them), and a Car Jacker can break a lock.
- A passenger who can't afford the fare is let out, and you're told.
- The meter switches itself off if you leave the driver's seat for 5 seconds, and a server restart switches every meter off.
- At 4–5★ the police can pull your vehicle over like any other.
Pro tips
- Pick a vehicle with seats: a Sedan seats you and one passenger, a Delivery Van you and three. A motorcycle carries nobody.
- Park where people gather: spawn, the banks, the Parachute NPC, the casino.
- Set a fair fare. A passenger just gets out of an expensive taxi, so check
/driversbefore you set your price. - Bank your cash after every shift.
